Residential Property Solicitor

ROLE PROFILE

Reporting directly to the Head of Residential and Commercial Property, this is a role requiring a dedicated residential property solicitor to develop and manage a full caseload of residential property work. The role requires a solicitor with a full knowledge of residential property law, relevant experience and the drive and determination, to successfully build a solid client base, develop strong client relations and promote the property services of the firm in the local market.

Key task include:
Marketing:
• Development of marketing plan in conjunction with the Head of Department.
• Promoting the residential property services of the firm.
• Projecting a strong image to prospective clients.
• Attending networking meetings (often out of working hours).
• Actively seeking marketing opportunities.
• Managing client expectations to a high standard.
• Presenting services to high worth clients.
Legal Matters
• Organise, prioritise and supervise the workflow for the best interests of the business.
• Carry out required work to a high standard.
• Use and promote existing Case Management software for controlling required legal processes.
• Deal promptly and effectively with all correspondence relating to the matters with which you have conduct, ensuring that any matter that requires the attention of a Director is brought to their attention promptly.
• Proactively develop own knowledge, skills and abilities to progressively deal with more complex work with minimal supervision.
Leadership and Team work:

• Lead and manage any support staff allocated, identifying the training needs within the team and conducting or facilitating appropriate training and development.
• Lead and motivate team members to carry out their work to the best of their abilities, and to promote high levels of performance from staff.
• Monitor the performance of team members and provide feedback and support for individuals, using Development Plans.
• Work effectively within the property team as a strong team member.
PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications: Admitted to the roll of solicitors (FILEX may be considered)
High standard Law Degree (minimum 2:1) and LPC (commendation or above)
Experience: At least 3 years experience as a fee earner responsible for residential property work and evidence of success with matters undertaken. Muti-tasking and effective prioritisation of workload.

Ability to present to business clients with a high degree of credibility
High standard of client care skills
Commercial awareness and marketing skills
Solid base of technical knowledge for residential property matters
Management skills
Thorough knowledge of commercial property legislation
Effective communicator at all levels of business organisation
