A Good Regency Flame Mahogany Twin Pedestal Sideboard (£950)
This lovely sideboard dates from the Late Regency/William IV Period (1830-1837.) It is well polished and patinated, and ready for use at home. The central section has two oak lined drawers and a carved back with scroll, roundel and clam decoration. The side cabinets each have an arrangement of drawers and shelves. There are no locks to this sideboard but this doesn't affect the opening and closing of either the drawers or doors. The drawers to the side cabinets have old replacement runners, with the result that the drawers run very smoothly in use. This lovely sideboard has had some light refurbishment over it's 175 or so years lifespan, but it is substantially unmolested and structurally very sound. Typically there is the odd bit of veneer or moulding that has been repaired or replaced and a couple of places where the veneer has slightly separated from the substrate. These are MINOR aesthetic issues and don't affect the fitness for purpose of this rare and delightful antique. Measurements are as follows:
SIZE
Length – left to right 185 cm or 74 inches
Width – front to back 64 cm or 25 inches
Height 90 cm or 36 inches to centre counter height. 130 cm or 52 inches to raised back
