Citroen Xm 2.0 Turbo (£300)

Hiya.

I am selling off the 3 cars from my garden which I seem to have accumulated over time to do things with and never quite got around to it. The prices are flexible and I am open to trades for things that aren't cars! A Motorbike/Moped would be much better and take up less space. I will pop this note at the top of all three and then describe the car I am actually advertising.

Anyone want to buy my British Racing Green Citroen XM? This is a VSX on an N plate and has a 2.0 litre turbo engine in it and works beautifully when it has an exhaust :)

There is no tax, no MOT and no back exhaust section on this. Although it drives perfectly well without the rear exhaust, it would get a little noisy and probably gas the inhabitants of the car after a while.

I haven't tried to get this through an MOT for a while but the last time I was about to, the only problems I could find with it was the rear exhaust. There's a light that goes on on the dash occasionally warning about ABS but I had the brakes checked and they are fine. There's also a warning light showing an engine fault, which is saying that the O2 sensor needs replacing. It doesn't but somewhere I think I have a spare one anyway if you want the light to go out. I am told that this is the norm for all oldish XM's.

The hydraulics work beautifully, the inside and outside are not at all bad, and it even has the nice little extra window at the back to stop the people inside getting cold when you open the back. It has a huge boot! Tyres aren't bad, I can't remember if it has a battery in it but I can find one for it I am sure.

What else... I spent many unhappy and painful hours replacing the driver's electric window mechanism which cost me lots, and I never quite finished. It's all done, but I rewired it and I never got the proper switch so it's on a temporary switch at the moment as opposed to the proper rocker switch. This basically means you have to remember to switch it off when it is fully wound/unwound or you'll be straining the motor and wasting battery. Of all the niggles about the XM the fact the doors let in water to the window mechanisms is the worse, they are horrible to replace but as far as I know, the new ones have a few years left in them now they have been done.

If you want a big, comfortable executive petrol eating machine, this is a lovely car. If you don't; then I personally wouldn't touch it, but then again, I did, but I am a sucker for XM's, they are lovely cars :)

As with the other cars, you'd have to collect it yourself, presumably on a trailer. It'll drive perfectly well but as I said, no tax, no MOT etc.

** Added as a sort of PS - I think this is a 2.0, it may be bigger, I will check and update this posting when I find out.
