This all girls comprehensive secondary school based in the county of Bedfordshire require a KS3 & 4 English teacher from January 2010. The school has over 900 students on roll aged 11-16. The multi-ethnic diversity of the local community is reflected within the school community, creating a vibrant and exciting working and learning environment.
The school has a science specialism and in their last Ofsted report they were rated as good. The behaviour in the school is good and many students actively partake in activities to support the wider community.
The role requires that the successful candidate will be teaching English from Year 7 to Year 11 on a full time table. This is on a permanent basis to begin in January 2010.
Ideal candidates that will be considered for this role will:
· Be an experienced, well qualified and outstanding teacher of English
· Have successful experience of developing teaching and learning strategies to meet the needs of all pupils and their continuous improvement.
· Believe in the importance of effective teamwork and a collaborative approach, and be able to build supportive working relationships with colleagues both within and outside the department.
· Have successful experience of curriculum innovation and development;
· Have a sound understanding of school self-evaluation and how this can impact upon raising standards of achievement.
· Be committed to their own professional development and that of other staff within the department.
· Be inspirational, enthusiastic, dynamic, creative and strategic.
