Sen Teaching Assistant
Hays Education have a large number of special needs (SEN) teaching assistant job opportunities throughout Hertfordshire. We are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants for early years settings, primary and secondary schools and for part-time and full-time, long-term and permanent positions in mainstream and SEN schools based in Hertfordshire.
Our Watford office is dedicated to servicing schools in the area and over the last year we have successfully worked with a number of schools in Hertfordshire to secure a high number of interesting SEN teaching assistant jobs.
We are looking to recruit highly skilled, trained and hardworking teaching assistants interested in supply, long term or permanent SEN teaching assistant jobs. Long term or supply positions are usually an excellent way of getting to know a school and often they can lead to a permanent placement.

The skills we look for in our teaching assistants include:
· Experience working with children/teenagers in an organised setting is essential
· Experience/training in PECS, Makaton, signalong, TEACCH, BSL, Team-Teach, TCI, Manual Handling
· Experience supporting students with autism (ASD), emotional and behavioural difficulties (BESD) and/or sensory impairments
· Willingness to promote learning
· Strong classroom management skills
· Flexible and adaptable approach to work
· Positive outlook
· Innovative and resourceful teaching methods
· Own transport is preferable as public transport does not cover all areas
